For the Ministry of Labor the new settlement procedure introduced by the art. 7 Law 64/1966 can also concern further issues, beyond the specific one regarding the dismissal. In fact, in the note no. 3/2012, the Ministry clarified that, within the agreement on the employment termination, the parties can “settle further economic issues concerning the employment relationship such as, for example, salary entitlements, overtime working hours or severance payment”. The Ministry also specified that this is possible “provided that the employee has the full awareness that the issue has definitively been settled and, consequently, the claim can not be challenged anymore”.
